The first tests with the prototypes equipped with the system were carried out in2016 and in July 2017. Since the 2018 season the FIA has made the halo mandatory on every vehiclein Formula 1, Formula 2 and Formula 3 as a new safety measure.[1]Please note the following conditions and accordingly modify the part: Under Static loading of 125kN the deformation should be less than 4.3mm while wekeep the weight under 9kg and ideally 7kg. You are expected to follow the procedure of mesh independency before you start changingmaterial. You are allowed to scale the model but the load must be scaled as well. You are expected to alter the geometry as the current shape is not fit for the purpose.Please provide a report with your assumptions, calculations, solutions and observations as follows; Your assumptions in terms of design, requirements and measurable. Justify your material choices and calculate their influence to a formula 1 performance. Consider crash performance, weight, cost etc some of the metrics you will need to define. Can you increase crash performance and yet make it lighter?
